Dr. Stephen L. Thornton is one of the nation’s most accomplished medical toxicologists, holding the rare distinction of triple board certification in Emergency Medicine, Medical Toxicology, and Addiction Medicine. He serves as Medical Director of the Kansas Poison Control Center and holds faculty appointments at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he directs toxicology research and education. Dr. Thornton also practices at Children’s Mercy Hospital and the Kansas City VA Medical Center, spanning adult, pediatric, and veteran populations.
