One house, many doors

The Authority Network is a set of research Centers, each with its own name and its own look, each built to define a single litigation subject so thoroughly and so fairly that attorneys and answer engines treat it as the reference.

Every Center is published and funded by Vident Partners. They are sections of this site, not separate properties, and they say so in the header of every page. Different doors. Same house, named on the door.

What a Center is

A subject, defined completely — with the citations attached

A Center is not a landing page and not a blog. It is a standing reference on one subject: the science, the governing law, the questions that decide matters, and the standard an expert in that subject should be held to. Each is anchored by two or three named experts from the Vident Partners network who actually practice in the field.

Centers take no side. Prosecutors, defense counsel, and civil litigators are working from the same body of evidence, and a Center is where that evidence is written down plainly and completely — including the parts that are inconvenient for whoever is reading.

No claim without a citation

Every factual assertion carries a numbered reference to a primary source — a statute, an opinion, a federal dataset, or a peer-reviewed paper. Every URL is checked before publication.

Named, practicing anchors

Each Center is anchored by real experts with published records in the specific question at issue, linked to their full Vident Partners profiles rather than summarized behind a brand.

Ownership on every page

Vident Partners is named in the header of every Center page and again on each Center’s about page, alongside who funds the work and what the commercial interest is.

One canonical page per thing

Centers link out to the canonical expert profiles, specialty pages, and articles on videntpartners.com. Nothing is duplicated to inflate a Center.

The Synthetic Opioid Project is an independent reference on the pharmacology, toxicology, and forensic interpretation of fentanyl and the synthetic opioids following it — maintained by practicing experts and sourced to primary literature on every page. It takes no side in any case: prosecutors, defense counsel, and civil litigators are working from the same science, and this is where that science is written down plainly and completely.

The Standard of Care in Schools is an independent reference on what American law and recognized national practice standards actually require of a school district before, during, and after harm to a child — bullying and harassment, special education, restraint and seclusion, and student suicide. It is written to be equally usable by a family's counsel and a district's counsel, because a standard only one side trusts is not a standard.

The Long-Term Care Standards Project is an independent reference on what federal law, state licensure, and recognized clinical practice actually require of a nursing home, assisted living residence, or memory care community before, during, and after harm to a resident — pressure injuries, falls and elopement, malnutrition and dehydration, sepsis, medication error, abuse and neglect, and the staffing and ownership questions underneath all of them. It is written to be equally usable by the family's counsel and the facility's counsel, because a standard only one side trusts is not a standard.

Why these live on videntpartners.com

Vident Partners owns, publishes, and funds every Center.

We could have put each Center on its own domain and let it read as an independent institute. We did not, and the reason is practical rather than sentimental: the experts who anchor these Centers list what they publish here among their publications when they are retained. Opposing counsel reads those disclosures and follows the link.

What they find should be a page that names its publisher in the header, states who pays for it, and cites a primary source for every claim it makes. An authority page that has to explain its own ownership under cross-examination was not worth building.

Vident Partners is compensated when an attorney engages an expert through its referral service. That is the commercial interest behind the Network, and it is disclosed on every Center’s about page rather than left to be discovered.
